Successful completion of a background investigation is required. Must complete a one-year probationary period. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance., In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. For the CP-14 you must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the CP-13/GS-15 level that is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience consists of: 1) providing strategic direction and oversight for an information technology operations to ensure secure, reliable and effective technology services; 2) advising leadership on architecture, security, compliance, scalability, integration, and long-term sustainability; 3) developing and implementing policies and guidance related to IT service delivery and customer service; 4) managing program budgets, procurement activities, and optimizing resource allocation; and 5) providing oversight to a team of IT professionals. 10+ years of progressive IT experience with at least 5 years leading teams and/or major programs. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a closely related field. Criminal History Check - Must successfully pass a comprehensive criminal history check of the past 10 years if offered employment. However, deliberate misstatements, omissions, or intentionally withholding required information at any phase of the hiring process will result in a candidate's disqualification regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatement or omission. The primary reason candidates fail a background investigation is due to deliberately withholding or omitting material facts. Providing false and/or misleading information may be grounds for removal from the application and selection process. Therefore, provide only the attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. ## Description This position is located within the Office of Information Services (OIS), Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (OCAO), United States Capitol Police (USCP). The Director/Chief Information Officer (CIO) serves as the Department's senior executive responsible for providing strategic leadership, vision, and direction for all information technology, cybersecurity, and data operations at the USCP. The CIO oversees the Department's enterprise-wide information systems, ensures compliance with federal IT and acquisition requirements, advances modernization initiatives, and leads a diverse professional workforce in support of USCP's mission. The Director is the centralized authority for all USCP IT programs and services and is responsible for developing and implementing technical solutions to ensure continuity of operations during normal and emergency operations.
