Create and evaluate design concepts considering functional requirements, vehicle packaging, and manufacturability. Design and model sheet metal, plastic, and structural parts using CAD to meet performance, durability, weight, cost, and regulatory targets. Perform feasibility studies, engineering calculations, tolerance stack-ups, and material/cost analyses to optimize integration. Coordinate CAE validation, DFMEA/DVP&R, and testing to meet OEM/FMVSS and quality standards. Support prototyping, tooling, suppliers, PPAP, and launch readiness. Resolve design/assembly issues via root-cause analysis. Collaborate cross-functionally.
