GENERAL DUTIES Maintains Laboratory Information System hardware and software. Troubleshoots problems in a timely manner, Reporting issues to the LIS vendor as needed: * Schedules, validates software and hardware upgrades per vendor specifications. Troubleshoots and resolves system issues. Configures and monitors foreign systems and instrument interfaces. Validates the integrity of data in the LIS system as well as in downstream systems. Develops and maintaining policies, procedures and documentation that pertain to the LIS. Financial management: * Develops and implements a strategic plan to accurately forecast LIS expenses. Assists laboratory sections in budget preparation. Regulatory compliance and quality improvement: * Evaluates and monitors the quality of laboratory operations and compliance with regulatory agencies. Participates in and supports hospital-wide quality initiatives and preparation for on-site surveys by regulatory agencies. Equipment and supplies Manages departmental inventory and ordering. Schedules and performs hardware maintenance to minimize downtime and disruption of services: * Manages departmental inventory and ordering.
