Advanced networking certifications, such as CCNP, CCIE, Aruba, Arista, Juniper, cloud networking, or equivalent credentials, are preferred. * 10+ years of experience designing, engineering, deploying, or supporting enterprise and global network solutions across data center connectivity, complex enterprise routing and switching, SD-WAN, SD-LAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, VOIP, DDI, NAC, internet, extranet, firewall integration, and load-balancing environments. * 5+ years of experience as a senior network design engineer, lead network engineer, solution engineer, or technical lead responsible for design execution, engineering decisions, implementation readiness, technical governance, and cross-team delivery of complex network infrastructure. * Financial-services or other regulated-industry experience is highly preferred. * Hands-on expertise in software-defined networking, enterprise network fabrics, policy-based networking, template-driven configuration, and modern platforms such as Cisco ACI, Arista, Aruba, Meraki, Juniper, Alkira, Equinix, and Megaport. * Strong enterprise networking fundamentals across routing, switching, BGP, DDI (DNS/DHCP/IPAM), segmentation, high availability, resiliency patterns, ZTNA, and wireless-first office environments. * Design and deploy resilient data center network fabrics using Cisco ACI, Arista spine-leaf architectures, Cloud Vision, segmentation, routing integration, high availability, and scalable data center connectivity patterns. * Design and deliver branch and remote-site network solutions with Aruba Branch Suite capabilities for SD-WAN, LAN, wireless, and CP NAC; Meraki Branch Suite capabilities for SD-WAN, LAN, and wireless; and supporting services such as VOIP, internet, VPN, and operational telemetry. * Leverage network automation and operational tooling to improve configuration compliance, deployment repeatability, validation, and observability using Python, NetBrain, NetScout, OpenText Network Automation, AppViewX, Spectrum, Cloud Vision, Aruba Central, scripting, API-based workflows, and templates. * Integrate application delivery and network security capabilities, including F5 LTM/GTM, AppViewX, Palo Alto firewalls, WAF, DDoS protection, NAC/ClearPass, Netskope, related cloud proxy platforms, ZTNA concepts, and regulated-enterprise security controls ## Description The Senior Network Design Engineer is a key technical role within the Network Services organization, responsible for designing, engineering, and planning the implementation of enterprise network solutions in a large-scale, regulated financial-services environment. This hands-on role partners closely with architecture, operations, security, cloud, application, managed services, vendor, and business teams to translate business, application, risk, audit, security, compliance, and operational needs into resilient, scalable, supportable, and cost-effective network designs. The scope includes data center, cloud connectivity, WAN, SD-WAN, SD-LAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, voice, internet, extranet, DDI, load balancing, firewall integration, VoIP, observability, automation, and emerging network technologies. The engineer will also develop design packages, reference architectures, scopes of work, implementation plans, change-readiness materials, risk reviews, rollback assessments, and operational handoff documentation to support successful delivery and long-term operational stability. Responsibilities Design, Delivery & Governance * Assess business, application, security, compliance, and operational requirements; identify practical network solutions; and prepare recommendations supported by feasibility, risk, cost, benefit, CapEx, OpEx, lifecycle, and supportability analysis. * Develop and execute design-to-deployment plans that meet scope, schedule, cost, quality, resiliency, change-control, implementation sequencing, rollback, compliance, and operational-readiness requirements. * Assess, mitigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues using industry-standard tools and methods, including packet analysis, flow analysis, telemetry, configuration-drift reporting, monitoring dashboards, fault-domain isolation, RCA practices, and NetScout. * Develop processes, standards, diagrams, and documentation that support design execution, operational readiness, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer.
