Job Title: Specialist, Test Engineering, Embedded HW/SW Job Code: 43385 Job Location: San Diego Job Schedule: 1^st Shift - 9/80 (employee's work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off) Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Embedded Test Engineer to support the design, verification, characterization, and integration of automated RF test systems and subsystems (ATS). The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on experience with designing, integrating and programming embedded systems, RF measurements, automated test solutions, troubleshooting hardware issues, and working in cross-functional engineering environments. This role will contribute to the validation of RF hardware across development, qualification, and manufacturing phases. Essential Functions: * Design automated test systems to be used in production testing with multi-unit capabilities, automated fault detection and test reporting. * Develop and program embedded systems involving linux, FPGAs, and CPLDs. * Develop automated test solutions using LabVIEW and Test Stand, Python, C++. * Develop, execute, and document test plans, procedures, and reports for components, subsystems, and full system assemblies involved in product testing. * Set up and operate RF test equipment such as: * Spectrum analyzers * Signal generators * Vector network analyzers * Power meters * Oscilloscopes Troubleshoot and isolate RF performance issues at the board, module, and system level. Support design verification and validation testing for transmitters, receivers, encryptors/decryptors, and Amplifiers Analyze test data and provide clear technical conclusions and recommendations to design teams and program leadership. Collaborate with RF design, systems, manufacturing, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues. Create and maintain test documentation, calibration requirements, and configuration-controlled records. Assist in transitioning test methods from development into manufacturing or production environments. Familiarity with Design for Test (DfT) and Design for Manufacturing (DfM). Secret Security Clearance required. In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $88,500 - $164,500.
