This role supports cloud migration initiatives, infrastructure automation, and platform modernization across hybrid environments, while maintaining operational stability for critical business systems. Primary Job Responsibilities % Time Design, engineer, test, and implement infrastructure solutions across Azure IaaS/PaaS, Enterprise Linux, Microsoft 365, and other on premise platforms to meet availability, security, and performance requirements. 35% Collaborate with IT management and IT security to Develop and maintain architecture standards, technical documentation and operational runbooks, and strategic plans for Azure, M365, and Linux platforms. 30% Provide Level 2/3 operational support for infrastructure, We are seeking a senior-level, hands-on engineer. It's a generalist but the big ticket item is enterprise Linux experience. Someone who builds things, not just maintains them. The Must-Haves Real Enterprise Linux Experience: Someone who has actually designed and supported Linux in a corporate setting. Candidates have to know how to make Linux sync with Active Directory. Azure Skills: The team has a gap here. They need someone who can build out their Azure environment from the ground up - IaaS and PaaS, networking. Bonus if someone has experience with Azure VDI since they want to ditch their on-prem Citrix. Automation: The team is lean, so they automate everything they can. They're rolling out Ansible right now, so experience there is a big plus. The Fun Stuff (The Projects) This is not a boring job. The new person will get to: Finish the Ansible Rollout: Get Ansible Tower fully stood up and start creating playbooks for everything. Build the Azure Environment: This is a 2025 project to create their Azure presence from scratch. Move a Data Center: Get involved in planning and executing a data center move next year. Figure out the VMware Situation: Help research and choose a new hypervisor now that Broadcom is changing things up. Logistics: In the Office: 3 days a week. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are fixed, the third day is flexible. ## Related Videos - [An Applied Introduction to eBPF with Go](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1075-an-applied-introduction-to-ebpf-with-go) - [My journey into DevOps world - How it all started!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/545-my-journey-into-devops-world-how-it-all-started) - [WebAssembly: The Next Frontier of Cloud Computing](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/972-webassembly-the-next-frontier-of-cloud-computing) - [Docker network without Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1418-docker-network-without-docker) - [Turning Container security up to 11 with Capabilities](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/718-turning-container-security-up-to-11-with-capabilities) - [Infrastructure as Code: The Developer's Secret Weapon](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1221-infrastructure-as-code-the-developer-s-secret-weapon) ## Related Articles - [What Are The Top Skills Required For Azure Developers?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/77-what-are-the-top-skills-required-for-azure-developers) - [Why Upskilling And Reskilling is Important For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/428-why-upskilling-and-reskilling-is-important-for-developers) - [Best Paying Jobs in Technology](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/256-best-paying-jobs-in-technology) - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated) - [Top-Paying Tech Jobs (with Salaries)](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/372-top-paying-tech-jobs-with-salaries) - [DevOps Engineer Salary [2023]](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/203-devops-engineer-salary-2023)
