 * 2 years analytical/microbiology experience.

 * Strong computer skills.
 * Well organized and detail oriented.
 * Approximately 10% travel required.

## Description

The Analytical Services Associate performs day to day activities of the BBU analytical services laboratory.This includes coordinating internal lab testing of ingredients, finished products, shelf life studies, writing/revising ingredient specifications and laboratory/department SOPs and the maintenance of all lab equipment.This position reports to the Senior Manager Analytical Services.
Key Job Responsibilities:

 * Performs laboratory experiments utilizing standard techniques and equipment.
 * Processes, organizes and summarizes data, reporting experiment results using a variety of scientific, word processing, spreadsheet or statistical software applications or program platforms.
 * Assists in the design of laboratory experiments, techniques and protocols.
 * Performs related laboratory maintenance such as maintaining and cleaning equipment and ordering supplies.
 * Interacts with other BBU departments and suppliers as required.
 * Author's and revises raw material specifications and laboratory/department SOPs.
 * Coordinates outside testing of raw ingredients and finished products.
 * Respond to consumer inquires with respect to ingredient questions.
 * Gathers necessary documentation (vendor spec, allergen, nutritional analysis, etc.) from suppliers as part of the supplier approval process.
 * May instruct other staff and students in basic laboratory techniques.
 * Schedules and interacts in vendor meetings.
 * Processes orders or invoices for payment.
