## About the Role

Encompass Technology is hiring a Tier I Technical Support Specialist in Houston, TX. Pay is $20-$25 per hour, full time, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. You'll need an A plus Certification and an associate degree in IT or equivalent experience, and you'll spend your days resolving client tickets and installing PCs at client sites across the Houston metro.., * You are a natural problem solver who likes figuring out why something broke and fixing it fast.

 * You are a clear communicator who explains technical issues without the jargon and leaves clients happier than you found them.
 * You take pride in tight documentation, an organized day, and learning something new every week.
 * You bring 1-3 years of help desk/call center customer support experience, plus working knowledge of Office 365, Windows OS, and Windows Server.
 * You bring proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, and experience with Apple and Android devices.
 * You bring a valid driver's license, current insurance, and the ability to pass a standard background check and drug test.

## Description

* We deliver custom telecommunication cabling, from simple Ethernet access to coordinating 2,000 plus drops in a national call center.
 * Clients count on us to get the job done efficiently and on schedule.

What You Will Do Each Day:

 * Answer incoming service desk calls and emails, set ticket priority, and resolve Level 1 issues within 24 hours.
 * Troubleshoot software problems and document every step in the ticket system in real time.
 * Escalate tougher tickets to Level 2 techs with a warm hand-off.
 * Stage, install, and configure client PCs, transfer user data, and follow up to confirm everything works.
 * Drive to client sites around the Houston metro in your personal vehicle, with mileage reimbursed.
 * Respond to alerts from monitored antivirus and backup systems.
