REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Front-end development using modern frameworks (React, Angular, or similar) * Back-end development using languages such as Java, .NET, or Node.js * API development and integrations with REST/SOAP services * Experience working with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and solid understanding of data modeling * Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies * Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills * Understanding of secure coding practices and application security principles * Ability to lead technical efforts, mentor junior developers, and influence solution design * Ability to use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve productivity, testing, and documentation * Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders * Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver in a fast-paced environment DESIRABLE * Basic understanding of Appian low-code development concepts, including interfaces, process models, records, and data types. * Ability to navigate Appian Designer and work with standard Appian components under guidance. * Familiarity with building or modifying simple Appian applications, forms, or workflow automations. * Understanding of Appian best practices for application design, performance, and maintainability. * Willingness to learn Appian development, Appian SAIL, Appian integrations, and Appian DevOps processes. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS * Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Airport Identification/Access Badge (badge) in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements in Chapter 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 1500 et al., and DFW Airport's Airport Security Program within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for a SIDA badge upon each badge renewal. ## Description Under the direction of the Application Development Manager, the Sr. Associate Full-Stack Engineer - Custom develops, tests, and maintains applications with increasing independence.
