Lead the IT team * Direct IT staff on business-critical work, systems maintenance, and hardware and software asset tracking. * Make sure employees across the company get the training and technical support they need to use our tools well. Guide technology decisions * Work with department leaders to understand what they need, where they're stuck, and what technology could actually fix. * Evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software, and separate what's genuinely useful from what isn't. * Manage vendor relationships and hold them accountable for service and value. * Prepare cost-benefit analyses for significant upgrades and investments. ## Related Videos - [What makes Cybersecurity different for critical infrastructure?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/571-what-makes-cybersecurity-different-for-critical-infrastructure) - [Kubernetes Security - Challenge and Opportunity](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/412-kubernetes-security-challenge-and-opportunity) - [How Cisco embraced a DevOps culture within its network engineering team](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/99-how-cisco-embraced-a-devops-culture-within-its-network-engineering-team) - [Thinking Differently - How to Make Money from Cyber Attacks & Cheats](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/745-thinking-differently-how-to-make-money-from-cyber-attacks-cheats) - [tRPC: API schemas are pure overhead](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/796-trpc-api-schemas-are-pure-overhead) - [Navigating the Corporate Jungle: Life as a Developer in a large Company](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/621-navigating-the-corporate-jungle-life-as-a-developer-in-a-large-company) ## Related Articles - [Should Tech Managers Be Developers First?
