The successful candidate will work in a high-paced and rewarding work environment., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field and at least 3 years of engineering experience. * Minimum of 3 years of experience with cloud services in an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) or Platform as a Service (PaaS) environment, including application hosting. * In-depth knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS), including networking, serverless services, and AWS services used for DevOps management and deployment. * At least 3 years of programming or scripting experience using Node.js, TypeScript, C++, Bash, Python, Java, or comparable technologies, particularly in an Agile development environment. * Experience supporting infrastructure and operations with DevOps automation and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform, and CloudFormation. * Ability to analyze cloud infrastructure and define, plan, communicate, and implement technical improvement solutions. * Strong interest in automating processes, building software tools, and creating infrastructure-as-code solutions in a DevOps environment. * Ability to work and communicate effectively with customers, all levels of management, and individual contributors. * Permission to work in the United States and U.S. citizenship. PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/EXPERTISE: * Experience with Linux operating systems, Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo, and GitLab. * Full software development life cycle experience on large or complex n-tier client/server applications. * AWS Solutions Architect or AWS Developer certification. * Experience with Jira and Confluence. * Experience with Agile/SAFe methodology. LOCATION: Must be a U.S. Citizen Greenbelt, MD/Hybrid Telework - (Must be able to come into the Greenbelt Office several times per week) ## Description The Cloud Software Developer will support NASA's Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) Evolution and Development 3 (EED-3) environment, developing and maintaining cloud-based software and infrastructure that enable scientists and students to discover, transform, update, and improve the quality of Earth Science data.
