KG - **Location:** Kinston, NC, United States - **Experience:** Experienced - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Microsoft Office, SAP ERP, Gsuite - **Published:** August 5, 2026 - **Apply:** https://ag.wd3.myworkdayjobs.com/wday/cxs/ag/global/job/Kinston-NC/Assembly-First-Level-Manager_JR10436463-1 ## About the Role * At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment * Experience working with multiple cross-functional groups (Quality, Assembly, Procurement, Supply Chain, Machining, etc.) * At least 5 years experience in a leadership/management role Education: Required * Bachelor Degree Or * 4 years of experience Experience: Preferred * Experience developing and managing a statement of work on time and within budget * Experience using Microsoft Office Suite/ Google Workspace * Experience using SAP * Ability to work any shift, including alternative work weeks * Experience working in a union environment with collective bargaining agreements * Experience monitoring cost * Experience managing projects * Experience with strategic planning * Experience working with new product introduction (NPI), * Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. * Ability to articulate complex issues to others. * Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters is essential. * Demonstrated effectiveness in interpersonal skills. ## Description Ensures the manufacture of completed units by overseeing activities such as assembly of components into subassemblies; mating or joining of structural assemblies (metallic and nonmetallic); installation of systems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic) that are fastened with screws, bolts, rivets, solder, crimping or swaging, connectors, or adhesives; and testing with mechanical, electrical, and electronic test equipment. Interfaces with engineering, management, suppliers, and customers to meet product requirements and customer acceptance., * Lead team in developing solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. * Lead a team of represented employees in the GMF assembly area assembling complex aerostructures, to meet production requirements and customer acceptance. * Ensures the manufacture of completed units by overseeing activities such as assembly of components into subassemblies; mating or joining of structural assemblies (metallic and nonmetallic); installation of systems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic) that are fastened with screws, bolts, rivets, solder, crimping or swaging, connectors, or adhesives; and testing with mechanical, electrical, and electronic test equipment. * Interfaces with engineering, management, suppliers, and customers to meet product requirements and customer acceptance. Additional Responsibilities: * Other duties as assigned., * Vision: Daily able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. * Hearing: Daily able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms. * Speaking: Daily able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. * Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): Able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. * Carrying: Weekly able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. * Lifting: Weekly able to lift documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. * Pushing / Pulling: Weekly able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. * Sitting: Daily able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer. * Squatting / Kneeling: Weekly able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. * Standing: Daily able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor. * Travel: 5% able to travel independently and at short notice. * Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): Daily able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. * Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site. * Administrative position only PPE required: Safety glasses on manufacturing floor, bump caps in designated areas, and safety-toed shoes in designated work areas.
