## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or aerospace engineering + 11 years' experience, or Master's degree + 9 years' experience.
 * Experience with actuation systems (motors, gearing, ball screws, electronics, software).
 * Extensive experience using MATLAB and Simscape for dynamic, thermal, and power-flow analysis.
 * Knowledge of composites/lightweighting preferred.
 * Experience with military/defense programs or government contracting preferred.
 * Strong ability to interpret and develop technical instructions, diagrams, and abstract concepts.
 * Proven technical expertise in one or more engineering disciplines.

## Description

* Lead complex system design & analysis across electrical, mechanical, software, actuation, and composite technologies.
 * Define system architecture from customer requirements and applicable standards.
 * Manage requirements, including subsystem definitions, derived requirements, tolerances, and traceability.
 * Use modeling and simulation to verify performance, reliability, safety, and risk mitigation.
 * Create and manage test plans, procedures, fixtures, and tooling globally.
 * Perform subsystem testing and support integration into customer vehicles or applications.
 * Evaluate new and modified product designs to ensure performance meets specifications.
 * Present technical information to support strategic, multi-site planning.
 * Review and critique design work from others and promote best practices.
 * Collaborate directly with customers and internal teams on requirements, project updates, and test results.
 * Contribute to standard process and procedure development.
 * Mentor engineers at various levels.
 * Serve as a technology expert and help guide innovation for products and processes.
 * Support proposals, including technical definitions, diagrams, and compliance documentation.
 * Operate with a high degree of independence; only major deliverables require senior review.
 * Work across multiple projects and locations simultaneously.
 * Some limited travel may be required (20% typical)
 * Other duties as needed.
