You design how each merchant will run on Fulfil; you ensure the configuration matches that design; and you are physically on-site for the moments that decide whether a launch succeeds: discovery, dry run(s), cutover, and launch week. You work with an Engagement Manager who plans, runs, coordinates, evaluates, and adjusts the overall project plan from a distance. You own the other half: you go on-site to gain a deep understanding of the customer's needs and workflows; have the technical expertise to design the right solution; work with various domain-specific pods to execute that configuration; train the users, execute dry run(s) to catch any issues pre-launch, and provide on-site support with live troubleshooting through launch week. This is a hands-on, in-the-weeds field role - you don't simply show up to run a standard demo. You are in the warehouse, able to demonstrate how they should pick-pack-ship orders, using your proximity to the operation to identify risks, challenge assumptions, troubleshoot live, and stay accountable for the on-site outcome., * Lead high-fidelity discovery to capture how the operation actually runs. * Perform fit-gap analysis and design a scalable Fulfil solution grounded in real operational constraints. * Author the SOPs, drive internal sign-off, and review the design with the merchant to ensure alignment. * Set the data migration strategy: advise the merchant on how and in what order to bring their data across. Hold the configuration accountable to the design * Own that the configured system matches the design. * Review the configuration before the dry run, and reconcile any drift. * Own the merchant's data validation sign-off. * Run the on-site dry run ahead of launch. Get the merchant's team ready * Deliver hands-on, in-market training so the merchant's people can run their own workflows on day one. * Say the hard thing before it becomes a launch blocker, and step into a struggling project to stabilize it. * Turn what you see in the field into clearer work for the specialist teams and better playbooks for the next launch. Run the launch on the ground * Own cutover execution on the floor. * Stay on-site through launch week and stabilize the operation. * Represent Fulfil as a trusted partner, not just a software vendor., Senior Engagement Managers are expected to use AI as a force multiplier. You will: * Use Fulfil's internal AI tools to pull historical context on similar implementations, prior launch risks, and configuration patterns. * Use AI to draft and maintain project plans, risk logs, status updates, and post-launch reviews. * Pressure-test your own plans with AI: what is missing, what is on the critical path, and which risk you have not yet named. * Feed learnings back into shared playbooks and templates so every future launch runs better., * Have led ERP implementations involving native accounting or financial modules. * Bring NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle ecosystem experience. * Have worked deeply with Shopify, Amazon, EDI, or 3PL integrations. * Have run field implementations for US merchants before., * You want to coordinate projects rather than own their outcomes. * You see your job as reporting status rather than driving it. * You move dates around without understanding the operating or technical consequences. * You need consensus or perfect information before you make a call. * You avoid difficult conversations with merchants or internal teams. * You want a pure people-management role with distance from the actual delivery. This role rewards judgment, ownership, and the willingness to make hard calls. It is not for everyone, and that is intentional. ## Related Videos - [Swapping a Data Warehouse at Runtime: Zero-Downtime Migration Without Changing a Single Client](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100311-swapping-a-data-warehouse-at-runtime-zero-downtime-migration-without-changing-a-single-client) - [Delete the roles, deploy the skills](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2104-delete-the-roles-deploy-the-skills) - [WeAreDevelopers LIVE - Markdown, Liquid and Checkouts](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1814-wearedevelopers-live-markdown-liquid-and-checkouts) - [Building the Next Generation of Software](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100186-building-the-next-generation-of-software) - [Developer Tools for Microsoft Azure](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/450-developer-tools-for-microsoft-azure) - [Teini - an extremely small webshop leveraging awesome and free tech](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/286-teini-an-extremely-small-webshop-leveraging-awesome-and-free-tech) ## Related Articles - [Navigating the AI Shift](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/629-navigating-the-ai-shift) - [What Are The Top Skills Required For Azure Developers?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/77-what-are-the-top-skills-required-for-azure-developers) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [Coffee with Developers - Maria Apazoglou - Making AI understandable for all in production](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/475-coffee-with-developers-maria-apazoglou-making-ai-understandable-for-all-in-production) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers)
