* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in computer science or similar; or equivalent experiencerequired

 * 5+years experienceas a SoftwareEngineer;with experience in modern software engineering;designing;developing,testingand deploying scalable software applications within a variety of technologies and environments. required

 * Expert knowledge of programming skills

 * Demonstrated knowledge of distributed system design and integration patterns

 * Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Dev Ops Practices

 * Experience with analyzing,interpretingand communicating complex problems and practices

## Description

As aStaffSoftware Engineer (Software Engineer IV)in the Customer Order domain, youwill help the core of Grainger's business,placing orders for the products we sell.The Customer Expected Delivery Date (CEDD) team does the work of predicting the date that our customers will receive their order.This role is a key player in delivering high-quality code that aligns with our architectural principals,meets our businessobjectives, and grows our future technical talent. This roleis expected to engage with people both inside and beyond their directteam;they will work directly with Product Managers, Architects,and key stakeholders.

You Will

 * Act as a technical subject matter expert for your direct team, and throughout the domain

 * Drive technical quality through Test Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Delivery (CD), and Pair Programming

 * Influence the architectural approach to the components that your teamis responsible for

 * Influence the prioritization of technical debt

 * Contribute to continuous learning on your team culture by leading knowledge sharing sessions with latest technological features and engineering practices

 * Maintain software in production withdemonstratedability to triage and resolve issues
