## About the Role

* Knowledge of specific industry project management and technical delivery methodologies like those based on the Project Management Institute (PMI), system and software development, product development, or scrum
 * 5+ years of experience working as a project manager managing customer-facing IT consulting projects
 * Ability to affect, inspect, and adapt company culture
 * Demonstrated ability to motivate project team and individual contributors and mediate conflicts
 * Experience using various project management and Agile tools, frameworks and methodologies
 * Excellent customer-facing and internal communication skills
 * Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
 * Solid organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to handle multiple priorities
 * Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
 * Frequent travel in the future may be required to work alongside leading public sector customers.
 * Scrum master and project management certification is a plus

## Description

The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Senior Program Manager to join our North American Public Sector. In this role, you will manage complex projects to completion, from initiation through delivery to closure. You'll coordinate with cross-functional teams to complete distinct projects on time and within budget. As a Senior Program Manager, you'll need to be organized and detail-oriented and have substantial experience managing IT and software consulting projects, relying on traditional systems and software development methodologies. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

 * Mentor and guide junior team members, offering advice and oversight to ensure high-quality program execution.
 * Serve as the main point of contact for clients and key stakeholders, ensuring program alignment with customer expectations.
 * Manage program risks and employ creative solutions to overcome challenges.
 * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver results, maintaining accountability for program outcomes.
 * Prepare and present executive-level reports and updates on program progress and outcomes.
 * Coordinate team activities and ensure that program tasks are completed on time and within scope.
 * Coach and mentor junior-level project managers and program managers
 * Maintain professionalism when problem-solving and resolving issues
 * Develop a foundational knowledge of Red Hat's technologies
 * Maintain awareness of emerging Red Hat technologies
