**Published:** August 28, 2026 - **Apply:** https://www.dice.com/job-detail/5fe5d168-7e79-4911-b067-c12946bdf81a ## About the Role * 12+ years of extensive hands-on experience in Unix/Linux administration and enterprise infrastructure management. * Strong expertise in automation using Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform * Strong experience with installation, configuration, administration, and support of enterprise infrastructure and operational tools. * Deep understanding of system security hardening, vulnerability remediation, patch management, and access control best practices. * Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues across multiple infrastructure layers. * Solid knowledge of core networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, subnetting, routing, and firewall fundamentals. * Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document designs, procedures, and technical recommendations clearly. ## Description * Build infrastructure-as-code (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef) version-controlled, peer-reviewed, CI/CD-deployed * Apply security principles (least privilege, defense in depth, zero trust) to system design * Own system hardening baselines and CVE response workflows * Design and enforce compliance-as-code: drift detection, secret detection, automated remediation, and audit trails * Monitor system performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to ensure high availability and reliability * Conduct capacity planning and performance engineering across computers, storage, and network layers * Maintain Git-based workflows for all infrastructure changes - branching, code review, merge pipelines * Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) for configuration deployment, image builds, and validation * Manage configuration management at scale using Puppet, Chef, or Ansible across heterogeneous environments * Automate everything from provisioning, compliance checks, patching until decommissioning, * Address complex cross-system issues: NFS, kernel, networking, storage, and server hardware * Perform performance engineering: identify bottlenecks, implement measurable fixes, and produce evidence-based root cause analysis * Build observability and synthetic monitoring tooling to detect problems before users report them * Work closely with development, networking, security, and other IT teams to deploy applications, integrate new technologies, and manage project lifecycles * Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, architectural decisions, runbooks, and troubleshooting procedures ## Related Videos -
