Must be willing to work varying shifts (Day, Night, or weekends) Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training 5+ years of experience working with external vendors, negotiating services, and monitoring delivery of those services Airline industry experience, including business processes and supporting technology Skills, Licenses & Certifications Server installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance (e.g., Dell, HPE, Cisco UCS) Rack and stack procedures Cabling (fiber, copper) and labeling standards UPS, PDUs, CRAC units DCIM tools (Data Center Infrastructure Management) Top 3 Mandatory Skills and Experience: 1) Physical Infrastructure 2) DCIM 3) Cabling Nice to Have Skills:UPS and PDU experience Describe a great candidate that you are looking for and what skills and experience they will have: Candidate is a hands-on, infrastructure-strong data center engineer with proven physical skills, DCIM proficiency, disciplined change-management habits, and a collaborative team mindset. ## Description You'll be a member of the Data Center team within the Cloud Engineering Platforms organization where you'll design, deploy, maintain, and optimize the physical and logical infrastructure within American Airlines data centers. What you'll do As a data center engineer, you will be expected to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of data center infrastructure by maintaining hardware, managing system operations, supporting network, storage, server environments, and responding to incidents promptly while adhering to security and compliance standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Monitor servers, network, power, and cooling systems using DCIM tools Support application or infrastructure rollouts requiring data center changes Monitor space, power, and cooling thresholds Work with third-party vendors for RMAs, installs, and support Perform rack and stack, cable management, and hardware replacements Coordinate with network teams to troubleshoot connectivity issues Create and maintain elevation for data center using Sunbird DCIM tooling.
