Experience with IRB submission processes and human subjects regulatory compliance required. Experience with research data management systems (e.g., REDCap) preferred. Experience working with community-based or applied social science research preferred. Education: Bachelor's degree required. Graduate coursework or degree in social work, public health, or a related field preferred., * Demonstrated knowledge of human subjects research protections, IRB processes, and federal research compliance requirements. * Proficiency in research data management, entry, and quality assurance using platforms such as REDCap or equivalent systems. * Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently manage multiple concurrent projects, deadlines, and compliance timelines. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare regulatory documents, reports, and research manuscripts. * Willingness to learn and work with artificial intelligence (AI) tools and technologies as applicable to research coordination and data management. * Ability to demonstrate successful support, education, and advocacy for all students, aligned with the values, mission, and messaging of the university, while adhering to the staff policy on conflict of interest. * Ability to meet consistent attendance requirements. * Ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors, community partners, and external stakeholders face to face. ## Description The Research Coordinator supports the implementation and management of applied research and evaluation projects at the Center on Poverty and Community Development. This position coordinates day-to-day research activities across federally funded, foundation-funded, and community-partnered projects; ensures compliance with institutional and sponsor requirements; oversees data collection and management systems; and facilitates collaboration among faculty investigators, research staff, students, and external community and government partners. This role directly advances the Poverty Center's mission of producing rigorous, community-engaged research to inform policy and practice., * Prepare, submit, and manage IRB applications, amendments, continuing reviews, and all regulatory documentation to ensure ongoing compliance with Case Western Reserve University, federal, and sponsor requirements across multiple concurrent research studies. (20%) * Manage research data collection, entry, cleaning, and quality assurance using approved platforms (e.g., REDCap); maintain data integrity and documentation standards; support reporting to sponsor systems such as ClinicalTrials.gov. (20%) * Coordinate participant recruitment, informed consent, scheduling, and follow-up for community-based and institutional research studies in accordance with approved protocols. (20%) * Serve as a primary liaison between faculty investigators, research staff, students, and external community partners and public agencies; facilitate ongoing communication and collaboration to support project goals. (15%) * Support preparation of sponsor progress reports, abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication and national conferences; assist with audit readiness as needed. (10%) * Maintain organized and audit-ready project records across all active studies; identify and support continuous improvement of research coordination processes and workflows. (10%) NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Assist with onboarding and orientation of new research staff or student workers as needed. (3%) * Perform other duties as assigned. (2%) CONTACTS Department: Continuous contact with faculty investigators, research staff, and students to coordinate daily research activities, share project updates and compliance documentation. University: Frequent contact with Case Western Reserve University IRB, Office of Research Administration, and other institutional offices to ensure regulatory compliance and sponsor reporting. External: Regular contact with community partners, public agencies, federal sponsors, and foundation program officers to support project implementation and stakeholder engagement. Students: Occasional contact to provide guidance for graduate and undergraduate research assistants participating in project activities., This position does not carry direct supervisory authority. May provide informal guidance and task direction to student research assistants and volunteers., This position is eligible for hybrid work arrangement up to two remote days per week at the discretion of the department.
