Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * 1-3 years of experience in broadcast cabling, sports video production, LED/scoreboard systems, or a related field; relevant internships, academic projects, or coursework will be considered. * Foundational understanding of video signal distribution, including SDI, IP video, and fiber, as well as the systems and infrastructure supporting broadcast production and control rooms. * Basic understanding of LED display technologies, including pixel pitch, processing, resolution, and viewing considerations, with an interest in developing deeper technical expertise. * Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. * Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with an interest in developing client-facing and presentation skills. * Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage assigned tasks, meet deadlines, and incorporate feedback from senior team members. * Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate work across multiple areas of design. * Bachelor's degree in broadcast engineering, media technology, electrical engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, coursework, internship, and practical experience preferred. * Experience or academic exposure to sports facilities, live event production, broadcast systems, or multipurpose venue environments preferred. * Familiarity with broadcast and video systems used for sports presentation, live event production, and multipurpose venue environments preferred. * Interest in the integration of broadcast and video systems with scoreboards, LED displays, sound systems, and other event presentation technologies preferred. * Familiarity with construction documentation practices, including specifications, drawings, RFIs, and submittals preferred. * Exposure to BIM-based design coordination and multidisciplinary workflows preferred. * Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam preferred. * Familiarity with current video and broadcast networking technologies and protocols, such as SMPTE 2110, NDI, and IP video preferred. * Willingness and ability to travel as required to support project and client needs. ## Description PMY is seeking a Broadcast Systems Designer to support the design of broadcast and video production infrastructure for educational, sports, and entertainment facilities, including stadiums, arenas, and other large-format venues. This is a developing technical role for a designer building expertise in broadcast cabling infrastructure, sports video production systems, and LED and scoreboard display technology. Task-based workload is assigned with guidance provided for more complex items, and the role works in partnership with senior team members on client-facing activities. You will support venue owners and operators, architects, engineers, contractors, integrators, and manufacturers in developing broadcast and video production systems and LED/scoreboard solutions tailored to each venue's operational and event-day requirements. As an independent consultant, PMY is not aligned with any specific manufacturer. Our designers objectively evaluate available technologies and recommend solutions based on performance, league and venue requirements, reliability, maintainability, budget, and project needs. The successful candidate will develop technical proficiency in broadcast, LED, and video production design, contribute reliably to coordinated and constructible designs, and grow toward increasing self-direction and client interaction., * Support the design and documentation of broadcast cabling, video production, and LED/scoreboard systems under the direction of a Senior Designer or Consultant. * Participate in client and operator meetings alongside senior team members, developing an understanding of client needs and building confidence in client-facing responsibilities. * Assist with confirming camera locations, viewing angles, and camera platforms meet applicable league requirements.
