This role responds to cybersecurity-related incidents with the potential to impact the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of our clients' networks, while also taking on escalated issues beyond standard Tier II scope. The successful candidate brings advanced troubleshooting expertise, an emerging ability to mentor junior engineers, and a strong foundation in enterprise network and security platforms. This individual is highly motivated, detail-oriented, process-oriented, and customer service-focused. This position works in a team-oriented, cross-departmental environment and requires mid-to-senior-level understanding of information technology processes and procedures. The candidate must build and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally., * Minimum of five years' experience with IP networks and network security, including routing and firewall operations. * Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability. * Strong communication skills for regular interaction with clients, partners, and vendors. * Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment. * Experience troubleshooting core networking devices (routers, switches, wireless). * Cisco, Check Point, and Palo Alto next-generation firewall (NGFW) expertise, including advanced configuration and troubleshooting. * Strong understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS). * Ability to troubleshoot cloud networking problems (AWS, Azure). * Proficiency with LINUX commands and scripting. * Proficiency with IP packet analysis. * Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools. * Ability to create network diagrams and documentation. Desired Skills: * Expertise with firewall and network vendors (Check Point, Palo Alto, Cisco) in large enterprise environments. * Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Ansible, PowerShell). * Knowledge of cloud services and virtualization technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, VMware). * Programming or scripting proficiency for task orchestration and automation. Preferred Certifications: * Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent * Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) * ITIL Foundation Certification * Other relevant industry certifications ## Description Client Support & Troubleshooting: * Work directly with managed service clients for support and change requests. * Diagnose and resolve complex network, system, and application issues escalated from Tier I and Tier II engineers. * Serve as an escalation point for complex network and firewall configuration and troubleshooting tasks, ensuring timely and effective resolution. * Troubleshoot complex switching, wireless, and routing problems across enterprise environments. * Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and develop solutions to prevent future occurrences. Network Monitoring and Maintenance: * Monitor network performance and system health using various monitoring tools. * Conduct periodic network and system audits to ensure optimal performance and compliance with company policies. * Implement and manage network performance improvements and optimizations. Incident and Problem Management: * Support lead incident response efforts for major network outages and service disruptions. * Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to coordinate resolution of complex issues. * Develop and maintain incident reports, providing detailed documentation and analysis. Project Assistance: * Assist with client Check Point and Palo Alto firewall deployments and configuration changes * Opportunity to assist with implementation work for network and security devices, including Check Point, Palo Alto, and Cisco. Mentorship and Training: * Mentor and train Tier I and Tier II engineers, helping to develop their technical skills and knowledge. * Create and deliver training sessions on advanced troubleshooting techniques and network management best practices.
