Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # Telecommunications Technician 3 - **Company:** M9 Solutions - **Location:** Chantilly, VA, United States - **Experience:** Expert - **Salary:** $60,000.0 - $180,000.0 - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Microsoft Office, Bicsi - **Published:** August 14, 2026 - **Apply:** https://www.clearancejobs.com/jobs/9092533/telecommunications-technician-3 ## About the Role * Active TS/SCI security clearance. * High School Diploma OR GED required. * Minimum 6+ years of experience in related Telecommunications experience specific to the oversight & installation of OSP & ISP Copper, CCTV, Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), Fiber Optic and Structured Cabling within diverse construction industries. * Requires a BICSI certification, at minimum a BICSI Installer 1 for copper certification. * Manufacturer certifications and/or Fiber Certification. * Experience in and knowledge of telecommunications installation in complex markets including Federal and Government Facilities, Healthcare/Hospitals, Commercial Buildings and Mission Critical Facilities. * Ability to pass basic telecommunications knowledge test. * Hands-on experience and knowledge in the installation of Low-Voltage specialty contracting industries, solution-driven initiatives and overall leadership to field-project teams. * Demonstrated experience and ability to read and understand plans and specifications. * Basic knowledge of operating Hand and Power Tools safely, along with adhering to all Safety Regulations & Procedures. * Understand how to survey and document existing telecommunications infrastructure, including Copper & Fiber Cables, both active & passive components using electronic devices. * Strong communications, time management, and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives. * Consistently report to work on time, work well with others to accomplish a common goal, and maintain a safe work environment. * Ability to Sketch Rack, Floor & Wall Elevations. * Understanding of Installation, Inspection, Terminating, Testing and Troubleshooting of ISP/OSP Telecommunications Systems (Fiber Optics, Category 5, 6, 6A & Associated Equipment), including Backbone & Riser Cable (Copper & Fiber), various Pathways & Cable Tray (TC, MDF & IDF), Plywood, Cabinets & Racks, various Telecommunications Devices, Prefabricated Components and Assemblies, and Telecommunications Grounding Systems. * Previous experience installing various types of Low-Voltage Cabling. * Ability to lead the installation of cable from Telecommunications Rooms (TR) to work area outlets (WAO) while following directions & ensuring cables are installed methodically & arranged in proper bundles at TR for ease of dressing & termination. * Required to have a full set of tools obtained prior to the first day of employment as needed to perform the position. * Knowledge & understanding of different color codes & strong familiarity with TIA & EIA Standards. * Previous working experience in Terminating, Testing, Troubleshooting & Labeling of Horizontal Copper (Cat 5, Cat 6) as required for the position. * Experience with Microsoft Office Applications. ## Description M9 Solutions is seeking a Telecommunications Technician 3 to work onsite in support of a government contract for a client located in Chantilly, VA.
