## About the Role

This is a hands-on role for a strong Java engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, building scalable systems, and contributing to projects from design through production. You'll be working on high-performance backend services that support real-time market data, exchange integrations, regulatory workflows, and trade processing.

What they're looking for:

 * 4+ years of backend engineering experience
 * Strong Java and Spring Boot experience
 * Experience with APIs, distributed systems, messaging/event-driven architectures, and SQL
 * Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
 * Trading, fintech, market data, or other high-throughput systems experience is a plus
 * Experience with FIX, exchange connectivity, clearing, or risk systems is helpful but not required
 * Ability to work onsite in Chicago's Loop 2-3 days per week or be fully remote
