**Published:** August 31, 2026 - **Apply:** https://jobs.military.com/career/324458/data-analyst-ii-data-scientist-ii-virginia-va-rosslyn ## About the Role * Bachelor's degree in computer science, data analysis, data science, or computer/software engineering (or related field) with at least two (2) years of experience. \n * Proficiency in data analytics, including artificial intelligence/machine learning. \n * Demonstrated experience working with data throughout its lifecycle, including collection, management, analysis, reporting, and secure disposition. \n * Ability to brief diverse audiences of varying technical backgrounds. \n * Ability to participate in and communicate with formal interagency committees, conferences, task forces, and working groups as required by the customer. \n * Knowledge of State Department (preferred) or similar U.S. Government agency standards and directives, especially in relation to technical security. \n * Knowledge and understanding of regulations governing the use of classified materials. \n * Ability to effectively and professionally lead and interact with groups or individuals outside own organization. \n * Knowledge of analytical risk management methodology and principles a plus. \n * Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. \n * Proficiency with Microsoft O365. \n * Highly adaptable, positive attitude, and ability to work as a member of a team.\n ## Description * Develops, maintains, and updates tools that support risk and threat assessment activities within the Collections and Data Analytics Program, including the Technical Security Assessment (TSA) and Technical Anomaly Reporting System (TARS).\n * Supports the TSA project by developing a robust application for Diplomatic Security technical personnel to perform vulnerability assessments required by 12 FAH-6.\n * Contributes to the TARS project by creating an online information-gathering tool for technical anomaly reporting.\n * Integrates TSA and TARS with additional functionalities and assists with project management and cross-department coordination involving hardware and software solutions.\n * Collects data from multiple sources, analyzes relationships, and develops IT-based tools that integrate data into products supporting branch analytical processes.\n * Analyzes intrusion alarm and imminent danger notification system data, conducts workflow analysis of Technical Operations Group (TOG) operations, and develops improvements to operating procedures.\n * Develops and delivers fully operational hardware/software solutions that meet DS/EX/CTO and end-user requirements.\n * Performs configuration, change, and release management, and maintains documentation for supported systems and business application software.\n * Manages data throughout its lifecycle, including collection, management, analysis, reporting, and secure disposition, to support technical and operational requirements.\n * Provides written and verbal briefings to executive-level and other State Department personnel.\n * Participates in Department and interagency committees, conferences, and working groups to support the protection of national security information, facilities, and personnel.\n ## Related Videos -
