You will work directly with reactor and fuel engineers, systems engineering, licensing, manufacturing, supply chain, and operations to understand how they actually work and then build the tooling that makes them faster. This position will be located in Torrance, California, with regular travel to our Orangeville, Utah pilot plant., * Architect, design, and build full-stack software systems and infrastructure that accelerate reactor design, fuel manufacturing, licensing, and plant operations. * Build rich, fast web interfaces that engineers, operators, and technicians will use daily-and iterate on them with the people who use them. * Integrate and extend commercial systems (PLM, ERP, MES, document and records management) using REST and GraphQL APIs, message queues, and event-driven interfaces. * Develop tooling that eliminates manual document handling and preserves traceability from requirement to as-built. * Own deployment, observability, and operational health of what you build: CI/CD, infrastructure as code, monitoring, alerting, and on-call for your services. * Design data models, interfaces, and access boundaries that keep engineering, manufacturing, and quality records consistent, auditable, and usable across teams. * Diagnose and resolve problems across every layer-client, service, data, deployment, configuration, and network-including in the field during commissioning and startup. * Use AI coding agents and assistants as a core part of how you work, and review their output with the same rigor you would apply to a human engineer's. * Lead design and code reviews, set technical direction, and mentor engineers as the software team grows. ## Related Videos - [The AI-Native Engineering Org: What’s Real, What’s Hype, What’s Next](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100004-the-ai-native-engineering-org-what-s-real-what-s-hype-what-s-next) - [How a Small Team Shrank a Microsoft Monorepo by 94%](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1236-how-a-small-team-shrank-a-microsoft-monorepo-by-94) - [Blueprints for Success: Steering a Global Data & AI Architecture](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1577-blueprints-for-success-steering-a-global-data-ai-architecture) - [Go with the Flow: Stop the Leaks Before Your Memory's a Waterfall!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100073-go-with-the-flow-stop-the-leaks-before-your-memory-s-a-waterfall) - [Building a Multi-Agent Orchestration Engine That Actually Follows the Rules](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100159-building-a-multi-agent-orchestration-engine-that-actually-follows-the-rules) - [Git for Code Reviews](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/429-git-for-code-reviews) ## Related Articles - [What is Agentic Programming and Why Should Developers Care?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/625-what-is-agentic-programming-and-why-should-developers-care) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [How to Become an AI Engineer](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/331-how-to-become-an-ai-engineer) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [What is Software Engineering in the Age of AI?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/640-what-is-software-engineering-in-the-age-of-ai) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers)
