Also, for this posting we are seeking individuals with the following experience: * Advanced expertise in software development methodologies, user-centric design, and application functionality. * Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and successfully complete multiple tasks within tight deadlines. * Strong communication skills and experience with effective customer engagement strategies. * Solid understanding of software engineering best practices. * Broad knowledge of software development concepts, with specialization in areas such as: * Proactively researches and evaluates emerging software technologies to enhance solutions. * Demonstrated capability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams and engage with diverse stakeholders, with a clear understanding of the business domain. ## Description We are looking for a talented R&D Software & Computer Systems Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in investigating, developing, and supporting software applications that are essential to product development and production processes. On any given day, you may be called on to: * Investigate software issues, develop test documents, configure and analyze software systems and applications. * Work as a team to support new and existing software applications and subprograms, as well as enhancements and process control. * Apply software engineering principles, tools, and advanced techniques that support applications critical to product development and production results. * Collaborate in the planning of system and development deployment including responsibility for meeting software compliance and quality standards. * The selected applicant can work a combination of onsite and offsite work. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary., Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted. Applicants offered employment with Sandia are subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance.
