Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # Systems Engineer III - **Company:** Sierra Nevada Company, LLC - **Location:** Dayton, OH, United States - **Experience:** Expert - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Proxmox, Agile Methodology, Systems Engineering, Cyber Security, Computer Networks, Continuous Integration, DevOps, Kernel-Based Virtual Machine, MATLAB, Network Protocols, OpenShift, Scrum Methodology, Real-Time Operating Systems, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Requirements Management, Systems Integration, VMware VSphere - **Published:** August 20, 2026 - **Apply:** https://www.techcareers.com/job.asp?id=3360082931&tx=KP2525FFP&pt=1&aff=0B19D771-A501-4A5E-8338-2A822B784D54&utm_source=Job%20Feed&utm_medium=textkernel&utm_campaign=DE&utm_term=0B19D771-A501-4A5E-8338-2A822B784D54 ## About the Role * Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. * 6+ years of experience in systems engineering or related field. * Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience. * Advanced proficiency with Systems modeling and simulation tools. * Practical knowledge of multiple Engineering principles and practices. * Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams. * Knowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and V&V principles. * Knowledge and hands-on experience with networking protocols, hardware/software interface issues, and system/subsystem integration. * Familiarity with the latest trends and best practices in systems engineering, cybersecurity, and computer networking. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address and resolve hardware/software interface issues effectively, as well as identify capability gaps. * The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required Qualifications We Prefer: * Knowledge of system integration lab operation to include hardware in the loop (HWIL) design * Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, including continuous integration and deployment, automation, and monitoring * Experience with virtualized and containerized environment architecture, setup, administration and deployment (e.g., vSphere, Proxmox, RHEL KVM, OpenShift) * ISSO Security+, CISA, or CASP+ Certification * Familiar with real-time operating systems and embedded systems. * Background in Aerospace and Defense industry. * Experience with requirements management and system modelling tools, such as DOORS, Cameo, MATLAB. * Practical knowledge of industry standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to, requirements management, MBSE. * Experience or certification in International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) standards [Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP)/Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)]. * Ability to administer baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies. * Exposure to establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM). * Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. * Agile methodologies and Scrum Master certification. Essential Functions: * Ability to work on a computer for extended periods. * Hand/finger dexterity for system modeling and documentation. * Ability to work in a hybrid environment with occasional travel.
