Experience with VLANs, STP, and layer 2/3 concepts. + Network Performance Analysis, with the ability to interpret packet captures using tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, iperf, or SolarWinds as examples. + Network Performance Analysis: Ability to interpret packet captures using tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, iperf, or SolarWinds for example. + WAN and VPN knowledge of technologies such as MPLS, SD-WAN, IPsec, and SSL VPNs. Azure Virtual Network. + Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Network Firewalls, including hands-on experience with routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Citrix NetScaler, etc.). * Network Security Concepts + Expertise in firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, access control lists (ACLs), and DDoS mitigation. + Authentication and Encryption knowledge of RADIUS, TACACS+, PKI, and SSL/TLS. * Hands on experience troubleshooting telecom/peering partner/peering provider networks. * Understanding of vendor and telco/exchange/service providers support escalation paths and being able to escalate support requests to these vendors in a typically urgent and timely fashion. * Experience working with business critical, highly available/scalable infrastructure and applications. * Experience with ticket handling and processing. * Clear communicator, ability to communicate technical terms to business and customer stakeholders. * Experience in supporting and managing networks in an enterprise cloud computing environment. * Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Networking services and features. * Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks (required), Cisco and Juniper devices and features * Experience working with highly business critical, highly available/scalable infrastructure and applications. * ITIL knowledge and experience with Incident, Problem, Change and other process disciplines. * Experience creating diagram documentation (Visio/Lucidchart) * Experience writing technical documentation, especially in relation to Cloud architecture. * Will be required to write as built, operating procedures and instructions, templates. * Hands-on experience with firewalls, managed switches and router configurations Mandatory Technical Requirements * Palo Alto Networks (PAN) firewalls * Palo Alto certification >> If you do not have the certification, please do not apply as we can only take through candidates who have this certification * Azure Networking * Azure ExpressRoute * Telco / carrier networking experience (strong plus) * Citrix NetScaler ## Description Varian is seeking a Network Engineer position in support of our Managed Services global business. Our goal is to provide good operational practices and support for the operations, maintenance, and refinement of Varian's public and private Cloud environments and services. Providing support for new and legacy applications and services hosted in the cloud, and continuous improvement of Varian's Cloud infrastructure. The candidate will support Varian's cloud operations to enhance, optimize, and maintain computing capabilities across our entire global cloud solution. Including collaboration with Service, Operations, Product Management and Security. The Network Engineer must have expertise with Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) & Microsoft Azure. Additional responsibilities for delivering support to the infrastructure and deployment of Varian's applications as a Managed Service, and provide input in developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and standards. The position will receive direction from the Manager of Global Cloud Operations. Varian is seeking a Cloud Network Implementation Architect with a strong background in Palo Alto Networks to support of our Managed Services global business. You will support Varian's cloud operations to enhance, optimize, and maintain computing capabilities across our entire global cloud solution. Including collaboration with Service, Operations, Product Management and Security. The Network Engineer must have expertise with Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) & Microsoft Azure. Additional responsibilities for delivering support to the infrastructure and deployment of Varian's applications as a Managed Service, and provide input in developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and standards. The position will receive direction from the Manager of Global Cloud Operations. You are responsible for: * Providing network operations and support for Varian's cloud solutions.
