Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09: Application must indicate at least 24 months experience, education, or training in analysis of the interrelationship of pertinent components of the system. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment. Experience scheduling the sequence of programs to be processed by computers where alternatives had to be weighed with a view to production efficiency. SPECALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11: Application must indicate at least 36 months experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position. ## Description As an IT Specialist (CUSTSP), GS-2210-09, you will administer classified and unclassified local area network (LAN) clients, monitors ongoing operation of network systems to ensure hardware and software functions, and meets operational standards. Incumbent uses data, voice, and wireless principles to plan, test, and configure client systems, network, voice and personal wireless communications systems, to include specialized and unique platform IT systems. Provide real time monitoring of critical command and control mission related systems within Wing, GSU, and tenant organizations for information technology production control. Provide customer support, assistance, training, and orientation to Wing, GSU, and tenants. Adhere to management control plan requirements by conducting self-inspection and staff assistance visits. Maintain required information assurance certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M, Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002, Clinger Cohen Act of 1996. Perform other duties as assigned. As an IT Specialist (CUSTSP), GS-2210-11, you will manage the assigned IT/communications environment with privileged access at the network level for the Wing, Geographically Separated Units (GSU), and Tenants. Serve as a focal point for ensuring functionality and operability of the assigned IT/data systems/functions, voice and wireless systems to support mission requirements of Wing, Geographically Separated Units (GSU), and Tenants. Provide customer technical assistance and support for all users. Determine customer requirements and assists customers by recognizing and analyzing trends and providing instruction and orientation services. Conduct feasibility studies to identify and analyze system failures and analyzes data to determine if trends exist which forecast the need for future replacement or modification of system hardware and software. Coordinate frequency needs with command level spectrum management office to maintain current allocations and obtain new authorizations. Install, maintain, and repair hardware devices supporting a broad range of information and communications systems.
