The Engineering team builds systems that power Affirm's mission. We take pride in our craft, building reliable, performant, and scalable solutions that touch every part of the business. Whether we're enabling new ways to pay, ensuring our platforms can scale to the most demanding levels in the industry, or developing seamless servicing experiences, our focus is on solving complex problems through exceptional engineering. The Marketplace and App Experiences domain is the main pillar of our core consumer strategy, driving the user journey across all of our frontend surfaces: iOS, Android, and Web. The teams span across multiple products and areas to engage and provide value to our customers, starting with the Home hub in the app or website, which expands into the various product offers and journeys a user can embark on with Affirm, including providing cohesive user experiences for a user's credit journey or purchasing power with Affirm, and redesigns of the broader visuals and experience. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the team at the forefront of our front-end facing cross-team projects, working closely with other teams and engineers across our mobile and web technologies, while also evolving and collaborating with every product experience team at Affirm. As an Engineering Manager on our Consumer team, you'll help define how millions of consumers experience Affirm across our mobile apps, web experiences, and future consumer surfaces. What You'll Do * You will lead and grow a well-balanced team of engineers - setting clear expectations, giving direct feedback, and developing each engineer toward their next level. * You will own the team's technical strategy and multi-quarter roadmap, tying it to major experience initiatives that build customer trust and move Affirm's business, including large-scale redesigns and structural improvements to the consumer journey. * You will empower your tech lead and engineers to hold the design and quality bar, supporting them hands-on throughout technical design and cross-functional alignment. * You will own the availability, reliability, and performance of consumer-critical systems - on-call, incident response, and reducing operational toil. * You will drive alignment across multiple organizations and influence roadmaps on partner experience and foundational teams. * You will partner across Product, Design, and Analytics, and other Engineering teams, building trust and taking part in cross-functional efforts., To help us assess our outreach efforts, we invite candidates to voluntarily share information through a short demographic survey.
