DoD 8140 Work Role(s): 411 - Technical Support Specialist, Proficiency Level: Intermediate; and may qualify through education, military training, certifications, or a combination thereof. * Qualifying credentials include a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or completion of relevant military communications or network training. * Qualifying certifications may include Security+, CND, GFACT, GSEC, or other DoD 8140-approved certifications. Higher proficiency-level or equivalent DoD 8140-approved certifications applicable to the assigned work role may also be accepted. * A minimum of six (6) years of in-depth knowledge of complex LAN/WAN communications, network hardware such as Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, bridges, gateways, and firewalls. * In-depth knowledge of routing protocols such as Routing Information Protocol (RIP), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF). * Strong understanding and practical experience with technologies like Multi-Schedule Private Line Service Tariffs (MPLS), Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS), MLA Virtual Private Network (VPNs) and Traffic Engineering Duties involve among others, management of local and wide area network, projects, and installation of new devices, system, and on-going maintenance of infrastructure. * Experience with Wireless, Riverbeds. * Well versed with the advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems., * Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science preferred or 6-8 years of military experience in related field with advanced commercial certification instead of eduction . ## Description The Network Engineering Support position shall be responsible for: * In-depth knowledge of complex LAN/WAN communications, network hardware such as Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, bridges, gateways, and firewalls. * In-depth knowledge of routing protocols such as Routing Information Protocol (RIP), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF). * Strong understanding and practical experience with technologies like Multi-Schedule Private Line Service Tariffs (MPLS), Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS), MLA Virtual Private Network (VPNs) and Traffic Engineering Duties involve among others, management of local and wide area network, projects, and installation of new devices, system, and on-going maintenance of infrastructure. * Experience with Wireless, Riverbeds, Call Manager Express. * Well versed with the advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems. * Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve network outages. * Submit accurate and timely updates for all assigned projects, project completion updates, and system tests. * Well versed in all the following networks;
