## About the Role

* We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst with strong experience in the Upstream Oil & Gas domain, specifically within Drilling & Completions datasets.
 * This role is responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights through advanced data analysis, reporting, and visualization.
 * The ideal candidate will have expertise in SQL and either Power BI or Spotfire (experience in both is a strong plus), along with a strong foundation in data handling and quality improvement.
 * This is a senior-level contractor role requiring minimal supervision and a high degree of technical proficiency and business acumen., * Strong experience in Upstream Oil & Gas, specifically Drilling & Completions datasets.
 * Advanced proficiency in SQL.
 * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
 * Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 * Proven experience in report generation and data analysis.
 * Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Preferred Qualifications

 * Experience with Databricks and/or Python.
 * Background in data engineering or workflow automation.
 * Professional certifications in data analytics or related fields.
 * Hands-on experience with either Power BI or Spotfire (both preferred)

## Description

* Import, cleanse, validate, and analyze large and complex datasets from upstream oil & gas operations.
 * Interpret data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities to improve operational performance.
 * Design and develop data visualizations, dashboards, and reports using Power BI and/or Spotfire.
 * Consolidate and present findings through charts, graphs, and tables for business stakeholders.
 * Ensure data accuracy and integrity while continuously improving data quality processes.
 * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
 * Utilize advanced SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze structured datasets.
 * Support data engineering and analytics workflows when needed (Databricks, Python - if applicable)
 * Communicate insights clearly through both written reports and verbal presentations.
