You're a role model as an individual contributor and expected to guide your team's technical decisions while still contributing alongside them. * Advanced proficiency in general purpose programming, with expert level command of modern automation tooling, including Playwright (TypeScript) and Maestro (YAML). * Deep understanding of black and white box testing, API and integration testing, and system level validation across web and mobile. * Experience with an AI first approach to automation and architecture. * Familiarity with Jira, XRay, Confluence, Claude, and GitHub. * Strong communication and technical writing skills, with the ability to work across engineering, product, and quality management stakeholders and deliver outcome metrics to leadership. ## Description You'll be part of the Aspire engineering leadership team, responsible for the technical direction of quality and test automation across our platform. Aspire brings ServiceTitan's product to the green industry (landscaping, lawn care, and related field service businesses), supporting both web and mobile experiences for office staff and crews in the field. We're quality minded, use modern tooling, and need someone who can balance rapid iteration with high product quality standards while staying comfortable with ambiguity in complex cloud and mobile systems. We're looking for a highly technical, forward looking engineer to own the technical vision for test architecture and automation strategy on the squad, someone who wants to shape framework design, mentor a mixed seniority team, and drive an AI first approach to how automation gets built. What You'll Do: * Own, end to end, the short and long term technical vision for test automation and quality architecture across cloud and mobile systems. Design, build, and scale resilient, reusable frameworks. * Be accountable for major technical decisions on test strategy, partnering with the Quality Manager to define automation approaches across complex systems (a successful lead influences these decisions without having to make all of them alone). * Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps experience preferred). * Provide technical mentorship to a mixed group of senior and early career engineers: conduct code reviews, drive best practices, and delegate work to grow skill sets. * Compile and analyze quality metrics, including flake risk, execution performance, and release gates, and communicate outcomes to engineering leadership. * Share technical knowledge through design reviews, tech talks, or documentation. ## Related Videos - [CI/CD with Github Actions](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/856-ci-cd-with-github-actions) - [Improving quality with Agentic AI with Rovo Dev and Xray](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2005-improving-quality-with-agentic-ai-with-rovo-dev-and-xray) - [Innovating Developer Tools with AI: Insights from GitHub Next](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1268-innovating-developer-tools-with-ai-insights-from-github-next) - [AI Driven Development](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100340-ai-driven-development) - [Collaboration Quantified: Lessons from Open Source Developer Networks](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1422-collaboration-quantified-lessons-from-open-source-developer-networks) - [What craftsmanship is all about](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2006-what-craftsmanship-is-all-about) ## Related Articles - [The 8 Best Code Testing Tools](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/402-the-8-best-code-testing-tools) - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [The Best X (Twitter) Accounts for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/294-the-best-x-twitter-accounts-for-developers) - [What is Software Engineering in the Age of AI?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/640-what-is-software-engineering-in-the-age-of-ai) - [Navigating the AI Shift](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/629-navigating-the-ai-shift) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers)
