Ability to work independently and communicate well (verbally & in written form) across different functional teams. ## Description Department Overview The Radio & Telephony group is responsible for delivering critical interfaces to Motorola and third-party radio and telephony systems, ensuring seamless Avtec Scout console connectivity. Composed of on-site Software Engineers specialized in C/C++, the team supports more than 35 distinct interfaces while continuously developing new solutions to meet emerging business opportunities. Complementing these efforts, the Consoles and Infrastructure team-composed of cloud and full-stack Software Engineers-focuses on the development and enhancement of core features for the overall Avtec Scout console ecosystem., As a member of the Engineering Development Team, you will have the opportunity to support Motorola Solutions' goals of creating new features and processes for the mission-critical Scout product line. You will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge of software engineering, quality assurance, and general development skills. Every day can be different, and it is your responsibility to learn and optimistically support the Engineering department and your team. This role is not designed to be performed remotely; candidates must be able to work on-site at our facility in Lexington, SC. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Participate in a development role on an Agile team with other engineers Develop high quality code for new VPGate interfaces. Develop automated unit tests for features. Produce development artifacts for features produced (design documents, unit tests, acceptance tests, code reviews, etc.) Give input to ongoing process improvement discussions (continuous improvement) Contribute as an individual engineer on implementing new features or enhancing existing features for the product. Participate in all aspects of the product development process including requirement definition, design, implementation, and testing. Coordinate and participate in software design and code review. Create and execute unit, integration and system tests. Adhere to the team's performance and quality metrics. Develop intellectual property for the company.
