## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
 * 10+ years of enterprise technology architecture and solution design experience.
 * 7+ years designing and implementing cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, or similar platforms.
 * Strong experience with:
 * Azure Cloud Architecture
 * REST APIs & Enterprise Integrations
 * Event-Driven Architecture
 * Distributed Systems
 * Cloud Data Platforms & Data Lakes
 * Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates)
 * CI/CD Pipelines & DevOps
 * Cloud Security, IAM, Monitoring & Performance Optimization
 * Enterprise Architecture Standards & Governance, * Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Developer Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate, or TOGAF certification.
 * Experience integrating SAP, SAP S/4HANA, ERP, HR, or enterprise financial systems.
 * Experience with Azure API Management, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Event Grid, and enterprise integration platforms.
 * Government, public sector, or highly regulated industry experience preferred.

## Description

We are seeking a Principal Azure Cloud & Data Engineering Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise-scale cloud solutions. This role will drive statewide cloud modernization initiatives by building secure, scalable, cloud-native integration platforms supporting enterprise applications, SAP, ERP, HR systems, and state agencies., * Lead the architecture and implementation of enterprise Azure cloud solutions.

 * Design cloud-native integration platforms using REST APIs, event-driven architecture, and asynchronous messaging.
 * Build scalable Azure data platforms, data lakes, and modern data engineering solutions.
 * Develop cloud architecture standards, governance frameworks, and technical design patterns.
 * Provide technical leadership for DevOps, GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), security, and operational readiness.
 * Collaborate with enterprise architects, cybersecurity teams, developers, infrastructure teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
 * Mentor engineering teams and promote cloud engineering best practices.
 * Produce technical documentation, solution architecture, and governance artifacts.
 * Support enterprise modernization initiatives across statewide agencies and business applications.
