## About the Role

* U.S. Citizenship required
 * Must hold or be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance; an active Secret or Top Secret clearance also satisfies this requirement
 * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
 * 0-4 years of experience in software engineering or a related field
 * Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, and a modern front-end framework such as React.js
 * Basic understanding of Node.js and RESTful APIs
 * Familiarity with Git and version-control workflows
 * Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn
 * Ability to work collaboratively and receive feedback and mentorship from senior team members, * Coursework, internship, or project experience with full-stack development
 * Exposure to MERN or PERN stack technologies, including MongoDB, Express.js, and PostgreSQL
 * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines or containerization technologies such as Docker
 * Familiarity with healthcare or claims data

## Description

SteerBridge is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to support the Modern Disability Claims program. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone early in their software engineering career to learn full-stack development practices and contribute to features under the guidance of senior engineers. This individual will support mission-critical claims analytics and operational software.
Responsibilities

 * Write clean, well-documented code to support full-stack feature development
 * Assist with implementing and testing small, well-defined UI and API features under guidance
 * Support senior engineers in debugging and resolving software defects
 * Learn and apply the team's coding standards, tools, and development processes
 * Participate in peer code reviews to build familiarity with team practices
 * Assist with writing and maintaining unit tests
 * Document code and contribute to technical documentation as directed
 * Learn the team's domain, codebase, and Modern Disability Claims systems
