Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future. If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match. What you will do Volvo Financial Services (VFS) is the captive finance arm of the Volvo Group, financing the trucks, equipment and services that keep our customers moving. The Truck Business Control team is the finance and digital team embedded in the Truck channel - a dedicated finance and analytics partner that gives the channel a clear, trusted view of its business, from the total channel down to region, dealer and customer economics, and connects with Volvo Trucks and Mack Trucks finance to help shape go-to-market. We are hiring a Team Lead to run this team. This is a stretch opportunity for an emerging leader ready to step beyond individual contribution: you will own the relationship with the Truck channel and its brand partners, provide day-to-day leadership to a Financial Analyst and a Data & Analytics Analyst, and act as the financial and digital lead for the Truck channel. It is a role with real scope and visibility today, and a clear path to grow into a manager. As Team Lead, you will lead day-to-day finance and digital initiatives within the VFS North America Truck channel. You own the team's mandate - turning the channel's data into trusted insight, building the plans that steer it, and running the projects that turn ideas into adopted solutions - so the business steers on facts and finance is in the room before decisions are made, not explaining results after. Key Responsibilities Lead the team and the relationships * Lead and develop the team - provide day-to-day leadership, direction and coaching to the Financial Analyst (1-2) and Data & Analytics Analyst - set priorities, review quality, and grow their skills and careers. * Coordinate the specialists - bring the embedded SMEs - Accounting, Tax, Funding and Syndication - into the channel's numbers and decisions on a dotted-line basis. * Own the channel relationships - act as the trusted partner to the VP of Truck and his leadership team, the Regional Sales Directors and Sales Operations Director, and the Volvo Trucks and Mack Trucks brand-finance teams. Performance reporting & governance * Own the reporting and review cadence - produce the recurring management reporting and lead the performance reviews the channel runs on - monthly reviews with the leadership team, quarterly business reviews, month-end reporting and the channel performance story - one honest, decision-ready view across commercial, portfolio and financial results. * Turn results into decisions - translate performance into insight and agreed actions at channel, region and dealer level, so the business steers on facts, not surprises. Strategic planning * Lead the annual planning cycle - translate the channel's long-term strategy and priorities into tangible financial plans and targets - building the long-term plan, the annual and two-year operating plans, and the monthly and quarterly reforecasts, top-down and bottom-up, by region and dealer, and integrated with brand go-to-market. * Cascade strategy into action - turn the long-term ambition into clear targets and owned action plans at every level of the channel - region, district and dealer - so the plan steers the year rather than just reporting it. Pricing & deal support * Keep pricing sharp and deals profitable - support risk-based pricing with margin discipline against cost of funds, deal-desk and credit-committee review, and program economics - so the channel wins the right business at target risk-adjusted returns. Project management & transformation * Run one path from idea to adoption - operate a single intake, transparent prioritization and staged delivery for channel priorities, so good ideas become delivered, adopted outcomes with a status the VP and leadership can see anytime. * Drive the transformation portfolio - lead the team's initiatives across the data platform, automation, self-service and AI - building the operating model, not just reporting on it. Analytics, self-service & the digital toolkit * Direct the digital layer - partner with the Data & Analytics Analyst to build a governed single source of truth, self-service dashboards, pricing and program tools, and predictive analytics. * Champion a tool-first, teaching-led model - build tools that scale insight to many decision-makers, and teach the business to self-serve - reserving in-person partnering for the most material decisions. Portfolio risk & control * Protect the book - keep the credit portfolio healthy and priced into decisions - monitoring delinquency, losses, residuals and concentration - and ensure operational controls over data quality and compliance are in place and evidenced. What success looks like * A trusted partner - the VP relies on you as the channel's financial and digital lead - consulted before decisions are made, not after. * The channel runs on trusted numbers - leadership sees the full P&L down to dealer and customer economics and knows where to act. * Ideas land - priorities move from idea to adoption without stalling. * A growing team - your two analysts are well-directed, developing, and increasingly self-sufficient. * Integrated with the brands - finance is wired into Volvo Trucks and Mack Trucks - aligned on strategy and go-to-market. ## Related Videos - [Beyond Dashboards: Fixing Text-to-SQL with Semantic RAG](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2036-beyond-dashboards-fixing-text-to-sql-with-semantic-rag) - [Inside Mercedes-Benz: How CIO Katrin Lehmann is Empowering 5,000 Developers and Driving Digital Change](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1360-inside-mercedes-benz-how-cio-katrin-lehmann-is-empowering-5-000-developers-and-driving-digital-change) - [Cutting LLM Costs Without Cutting Quality: How to Beat Proprietary LLMs with Fine-Tuned Open Source](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100151-cutting-llm-costs-without-cutting-quality-how-to-beat-proprietary-llms-with-fine-tuned-open-source) - [Modern Data Architectures need Software Engineering](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1030-modern-data-architectures-need-software-engineering) - [Enabling intelligent logistics automation: home-grown Industrial IoT platform at Austrian Post](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2018-enabling-intelligent-logistics-automation-home-grown-industrial-iot-platform-at-austrian-post) - [Remote Driving on Plant Grounds with State-of-the-Art Cloud Technologies](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/251-remote-driving-on-plant-grounds-with-state-of-the-art-cloud-technologies) ## Related Articles - [How software is steering vehicle technology](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/515-how-software-is-steering-vehicle-technology) - [What’s the Difference between a Junior, Mid, and Senior Developer?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/238-what-s-the-difference-between-a-junior-mid-and-senior-developer) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [Coffee with Developers - Maria Apazoglou - Making AI understandable for all in production](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/475-coffee-with-developers-maria-apazoglou-making-ai-understandable-for-all-in-production) - [How to Become an AI Engineer](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/331-how-to-become-an-ai-engineer) - [From developer to manager – what does it take to become an engineering manager?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/42-from-developer-to-manager-what-does-it-take-to-become-an-engineering-manager)
