You have strong skills in system design, you focus on observability and testing, and you leverage AI to move faster without sacrificing quality. Within your first six months, you will tackle key projects such as, We're seeking an engineer with experience in financial services, trade workflows, or electronic trading systems. Your qualifications include: * Location: U.S., EST Time Zone * Industry Experience: 7+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably in capital markets or trading workflows. * Programming Skills: Proficiency in JVM-based languages (Scala preferred); ability to write clean and maintainable code. * Distributed Systems: Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable systems. * Network Protocols & Messaging: Familiarity with technologies such as TCP/IP, FIX, Kafka, or Aeron. * Cloud Technologies: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker. * AI-Assisted Development: Ability to effectively use AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code) to accelerate delivery and improve quality while maintaining strong engineering judgment. * Performance Optimization: Understanding of low latency, high-throughput systems. * SDLC Practices: Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies, including agile practices and CI/CD pipelines. * Continuous Improvement: Commitment to delivering high-quality solutions. ## Description * Feature Expansion: Ship new trading protocol capabilities at high velocity on our Aeron-based platform, supporting a growing client base and increased trading volumes. * Platform Modernization: Evolve our service architecture - migrating remaining workflows onto the new stack and designing the messaging patterns that connect it to the rest of the platform. * System Optimization: Improve platform scalability, performance, and test coverage for systems where correctness is the product.
