Required Skills and Abilities: * Strong analytical and logical thinking skills. * Comprehension of advanced data storage techniques, basic database philosophy, database management, and advanced programming techniques. * Understand the requirements for maintaining production systems and the effect of systems changes. * Solid understanding of currently utilized programming productivity tools and their use. * Solid understanding of quality assurance and implementation strategies of systems software. * Able to acquire knowledge of programming languages and tools used in the department. * Able to analyze software specifications for completeness and compatibility with operation systems. Required Software and Other Tools: * Standard office equipment. We Prefer That You Have: * Experience with z/OS system programming, installation, maintenance, and upgrades. * Knowledge of IBM mainframe technologies including z/OS, JES2/JES3, SDSF, TSO/ISPF, RACF, and Sysplex environments. * Experience supporting high-availability, mission-critical enterprise systems with 24x7 operational requirements. * Familiarity with disaster recovery planning, business continuity testing, and recovery procedures. * Proficient in the use of JCL and working with various vendor utility programs. * Experience designing, implementing, and supporting highly resilient IBM Z environments, disaster recovery solutions, and business continuity capabilities. ## Description The zOS Mainframe Services team is responsible for the administration, stability, and security of our organization's IBM z/OS mainframe environment. As a critical component of the company's technology infrastructure, the team supports high-volume, mission-critical business applications and data processing systems that enable core business operations. Our team manages the full lifecycle of the z/OS platform, including system programming, operating system maintenance, performance optimization, disaster recovery, automation, and security compliance. We partner closely with application development, database, storage, networking, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable, scalable, and highly available services. Each team member plays a vital role, owning specific technological components that are essential to zOS operations. This clear sense of responsibility fosters collaboration and mutual respect, with strong relationships and high levels of trust across the team. Everyone is empowered to contribute, and the team thrives on open communication, shared goals, and a genuine commitment to helping one another succeed., Write or debug programs to maintain and control computer systems software, such as operating systems, networked systems, and database systems. Provide technical and disaster recovery support for systems software. Performs work under minimal supervision. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter. Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
