## About the Role

Work Authorization Requirement: Applicants must have permanent authorization to work in the United States and must not require current or future sponsorship for employment authorization. DealRoom does not sponsor or support work visas, student visas, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, or any other temporary employment authorization programs., * 5+ years building production systems, with strong backend architecture experience

 * Experience shipping production SaaS software end-to-end
 * Strong product sense and a genuine interest in partnering with Product, understanding customer problems directly, and communicating with customers, peers, and leadership rather than leaning on the PM
 * Clear judgment on when to move fast, when to invest in robustness, and when to simplify
 * Comfort working across the stack, including frontend, infrastructure, or tooling
 * High ownership mindset and ability to drive outcomes, not just output

Bonus Experience

 * Experience leading a team or major technical project
 * Experience mentoring engineers and reviewing others' work
 * Experience with Python, Django, PostgreSQL, TypeScript, Vue, AWS, or similar technologies
 * Experience shipping AI-powered features
 * Ability to provide technical direction through architecture, code quality, delivery standards, and clear tradeoffs
 * Strong judgment on when an LLM is the right tool and when it is not

* Partner day-to-day with your PM to learn from customers, shape solutions, and iterate quickly

 * Adopt AI-native development practices to ship more with a small team
 * Help define and grow the engineering team as the product scales
