Comfortable using SQL to investigate data issues, prepare datasets, and support reporting workflows. * Strong proficiency in Python for data cleaning, transformation, automation, and analysis. Comfortable working with messy, real-world datasets and building reliable data workflows. * Experience building succinct and dashboards as deliverables. Power BI and Plotly highly preferred. * Ability to present complex data in a simple, intuitive, and executive-friendly way. * Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to translate technical work into non-technical language. Comfortable working directly with clients, asking clarifying questions, and explaining tradeoffs. * Able to work independently through ambiguous data problems, investigate root causes, and make practical recommendations. * Experience managing large datasets and multiple system integrations. Must be able to identify data quality issues, resolve inconsistencies, and prepare data for reporting or analysis. * Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States as a 1099 contractor. This role is remote and open to candidates working from anywhere in the United States. Short-term work from outside the United States is generally allowed in most countries, subject to client, legal, tax, and security considerations. Preferred * Experience with Azure databases, Azure Functions, Azure Web Apps, Key Vault, storage accounts, or related cloud tooling. * Experience deploying or supporting data workflows, applications, or services using at least one major cloud provider, such as Azure, AWS, or GCP. * Education data experience: Familiarity with student data, school systems, education nonprofits, districts, charter schools, or education technology. * Fluency in JavaScript and TypeScript is a major plus, including experience contributing to custom dashboards, web apps, or front-end data products. * Experience with predictive analysis, statistical modeling, forecasting, or machine learning. Not Required * Education: No specific degree or education level is required.
