## About the Role

* 6-8 years of experience in a related field
 * Direct experience with physical data center operations including rack-and-stack, structured copper and fiber cabling, hardware break-fix, and asset management
 * Solid understanding of power, cooling, and physical security controls
 * Strong ability to identify, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements
 * Hands-on enterprise data center experience

Desired skills:

 * Experience with standard tooling such as ServiceNow, Jira, CMDB, and DCIM systems
 * Knowledge of Machine Learning, Risk Assessments, and Enterprise Architecture Frameworks

## Description

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Infrastructure Engineer - Onsite for a contract position with a Major Financial Institution located in Itasca, IL. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role is part of a data center team responsible for the design, build, operation, and continuity of physical data center environments. The successful candidate will have the skills necessary to deploy server and network technology, understand data center power and equipment connectivity, and ensure critical banking applications and infrastructure remain secure, highly available, and resilient.

Responsibilities:

 * Perform physical data center operations such as rack-and-stack, structured copper and fiber cabling installation, hardware break-fix, and asset management
 * Install, configure, and support local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems
 * Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems
 * Deploy server and network technology within data centers
 * Operate within formal change, incident, and access management processes
 * Collaborate closely with internal engineering teams, vendors, and remote hands
 * Ensure deliverables are secure, scalable, and reliable
