## About the Role

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience, OR Master's degree (M.S.) in Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of experience.

 * Strong knowledge of embedded and application Software Engineering processes, tools, and best practices.
 * Familiarity with Agile Software Development methods and tools.
 * Understanding of Model-Based Engineering practices.
 * Experience with process improvement methodologies is preferred.

## Description

We believe people should love what they do - in this role, you will be responsible for:

 * Lead and manage all Software Engineers within the Munitions group in the Textron Systems Weapons division.
 * Ensure adequate staffing levels for Software Engineers, including:
 + Managing full-time employees, co-ops, interns, and contractors.
 + Forecasting needs to meet program and organizational requirements.
 * Drive Software Engineer development and engagement through:
 + Performance management: establishing objectives, conducting reviews, and providing feedback.
 + Facilitating regular communication: hosting meetings, resolving issues, and mentoring team members.
 + Developing detailed skills planning and providing training opportunities to enhance capabilities.
 * Oversee customer deliverables, including:
 + Review and approval of software architecture and requirements development.
 + Ensuring deliverables meet internal quality expectations and customer requirements.
 * Monitor and improve departmental performance via:
 + Analysis of quality metrics related to process compliance and overall team performance.
 + Gathering and addressing feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
 * Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
