Senior candidates who have stood up or scaled a technical support function are especially encouraged to apply. * An engineering background, with fluency in one or more languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Scala). You're comfortable exploring and navigating a production codebase-ours is primarily React, Scala, and Python. * Strong hands-on debugging instincts: you can read logs, write SQL, inspect data pipelines, and reproduce issues with API calls to isolate the root cause. * Proficiency with integration technologies-REST APIs, webhooks, SDKs, data pipelines, and embeddable UI components. * Excellent communication skills: you can explain complex technical concepts clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders, up to and including executives. * Strong, partner-focused problem-solving. You have a track record of relentlessly raising the bar for partner experience. * A bias toward leverage: you instinctively turn one-off fixes into documentation, tooling, and repeatable process. * Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment, adapting quickly as requirements and priorities evolve. * Genuine passion for helping small businesses grow and succeed. Preferred Qualifications * Experience in fintech, payments, lending, or another money-movement domain-familiarity with concepts like ledgering and reconciliation is a plus. * Familiarity with SQL and with monitoring/observability tooling (dashboards, logging, alerting). * Knowledge of industry best practices for integration design and technical scoping. * Experience building or improving developer-facing documentation and self-serve support. ## Description We're expanding our Partner Engineering team and looking for a Partner Engineer to own the technical experience of our partners after they go live. This is the person who keeps our live integrations healthy, resolves the hardest post-launch technical issues, and-most importantly-builds the tooling, telemetry, and playbooks that let us support a fast-growing base of partners without scaling headcount one-for-one. It's a partly partner-facing role that blends hands-on debugging with system-building. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with partners' technical teams and with our own Product and Platform engineers, moving us from reactive, one-off firefighting toward a scalable, self-serve, best-in-class support model. You'll also be a direct line into Parafin's product direction: the recurring issues and partner feedback you surface will shape what we build next. This role reports to the Partner Engineering Manager. We're hiring across a range of levels-from strong mid-level engineers to senior engineers who have built and scaled support functions before. Join us and help drive Parafin's growth. What You'll Be Doing Own the health of our live integrations * Serve as the ongoing technical point of contact for our partners' engineering teams once they're live. * Proactively monitor integration health, feature adoption, and stability post-launch-catching issues before partners do. * Instrument telemetry, logs, and dashboards to observe partner integrations at scale (webhook delivery, disbursement and repayment flows, offer eligibility, reconciliation). Debug and resolve the hardest technical problems * Own escalations end-to-end: reproduce, root-cause, and drive resolution of integration issues, working across Parafin's codebase (React, Scala, Python) and partner systems. * Read logs, write queries, and reproduce issues via API calls to isolate whether a problem lives in our platform, the partner's implementation, or the data in between. * Partner with Product and Platform engineering to ship durable fixes, not just workarounds. Build a sustainable, scaled support function * Design the tooling, automation, and runbooks that turn repeatable integration patterns into self-serve resolution-so we can support the next 10 partners without 10x the effort. * Own our technical documentation standards and be the flag-bearer for our public-facing developer docs. * Identify recurring issue themes and eliminate their root causes through better tooling, docs, or product changes. Close the loop with Product and Platform * Translate real-world partner needs into prioritized feedback and improvements to our platform, APIs, and partner-facing assets. * Advocate for partners internally while diplomatically steering requests toward scalable, supportable solutions. ## Related Videos - [Web APIs you might not know about](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/281-web-apis-you-might-not-know-about) - [Watch Tests Go Brrrr! : Getting Started with Cypress in ReactJS](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/282-watch-tests-go-brrrr-getting-started-with-cypress-in-reactjs) - [Debugging in the Dark](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1658-debugging-in-the-dark) - [Throwing off the burdens of scale in engineering](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/608-throwing-off-the-burdens-of-scale-in-engineering) - [Project Fugu: Extending the web](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/832-project-fugu-extending-the-web) - [Inside Bitpanda's Tech Stack: Scaling a European Fintech Leader - Markus Dorner](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1979-inside-bitpanda-s-tech-stack-scaling-a-european-fintech-leader-markus-dorner) ## Related Articles - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [Why Upskilling And Reskilling is Important For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/428-why-upskilling-and-reskilling-is-important-for-developers) - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated) - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [How to Answer the Interview Question: “Why Do You Want to Be a Software Engineer?”](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/392-how-to-answer-the-interview-question-why-do-you-want-to-be-a-software-engineer)
