Translate functional and business requirements into detailed technical designs and implementation strategies. Define appropriate use of Salesforce configuration, custom development, integrations, automation, and platform capabilities. Evaluate solution alternatives and make architecture recommendations based on scalability, security, maintainability, performance, and cost. Establish technical standards, design patterns, and development best practices across Salesforce implementations. Conduct architecture and technical design reviews. Salesforce Platform Leadership Provide technical leadership across Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and other Salesforce products as applicable. Design solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, platform events, asynchronous processing, and Salesforce APIs. Determine when to use declarative functionality versus custom development. Guide teams on Salesforce governor limits, platform constraints, performance considerations, and scalability. Review Apex, LWC, SOQL, Flow, and configuration designs for quality and adherence to platform best practices. Integration Architecture Design and oversee integrations between Salesforce and enterprise applications, APIs, data platforms, middleware, and third-party services. Define appropriate integration patterns including synchronous APIs, asynchronous messaging, event-driven architectures, batch integrations, and file-based processing. Work with REST, SOAP, Bulk APIs, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, and other Salesforce integration technologies. Collaborate with middleware and integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Boomi, Azure Integration Services, AWS services, or similar technologies. Establish standards for error handling, retries, monitoring, logging, and integration security. Support CI/CD strategies using tools such as GitHub, Azure DevOps, Gearset, Copado, Salesforce CLI, or equivalent technologies. Establish branching, code review, automated testing, and deployment standards. Promote appropriate use of Salesforce environments, sandboxes, scratch orgs, and source-driven development. Help establish monitoring and operational support practices for production Salesforce environments. Technical Leadership Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Salesforce developers, administrators, and other architects. Review technical designs and code to ensure quality, maintainability, security, and performance. Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex platform, integration, and production issues. Work closely with project managers and delivery leadership to identify technical risks, dependencies, and implementation constraints.
