Brigham and Women's Hospital is a major teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School and part of Mass General Brigham, the largest recipient of NIH funding among independent hospitals. The Division of Population Science and Network Medicine is a research division within the Department of Medicine whose goal is to define the etiology of complex diseases and to reclassify them using network- and systems-based approaches. Our group, led by Dr. Michael Cho, Associate Professor of Medicine, and Dr. Matthew Moll, Assistant Professor of Medicine, focuses on chronic respiratory disease, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and interstitial lung disease. Funding for this position is part of an active R01 NHLBI grant. We have access to some of the largest and most well described population-based and respiratory disease cohorts in the world, as part of COPDGene, Trans-Omics for Precision Medicine (TOPMed), and the International COPD Genetics Consortium, and investigators in the UK and Mass General Brigham Biobanks, All of Us, and Million Veteran Program. In these cohorts, data to be analyzed includes whole-genome genetic, RNA-Seq, epigenome, proteomic, and metabolomic data from blood and lung tissue, in bulk and in single cells. Methods include genetic association, differential expression, and integrative omics analysis, including application of machine learning, development of deep learning models, network, and systems pharmacology methods. The work will be performed as part of an interdisciplinary team, consisting of geneticists and genetic epidemiologists, biostatisticians, computational biologists, and translational scientists and clinicians. Successful candidates will work closely with students, programmers, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty. Principal duties and responsibilities: Develop and use new and existing computational pipelines for analysis of research data. Efficiently leverage local compute, public and private cloud. Oversee data processing, dissemination, and access to high-throughput sequencing data. Provide statistical and analytic support. ## Related Videos - [Geometric deep learning for drug discovery](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/264-geometric-deep-learning-for-drug-discovery) - [Getting Started with Machine Learning](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/260-getting-started-with-machine-learning) - [Docker network without Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1418-docker-network-without-docker) - [Data Science on Software Data](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/162-data-science-on-software-data) - [Docker exec without Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1094-docker-exec-without-docker) - [30 Golden Rules of Deep Learning Performance](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/11-30-golden-rules-of-deep-learning-performance) ## Related Articles - [Data Analyst Salary in the UK](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/278-data-analyst-salary-in-the-uk) - [Data Engineer Salary UK](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/253-data-engineer-salary-uk) - [Top Big Data Technologies That You Need to Know](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/108-top-big-data-technologies-that-you-need-to-know) - [Best Coding Boot Camps in Germany](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/237-best-coding-boot-camps-in-germany) - [Data Analyst Salary in Switzerland](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/276-data-analyst-salary-in-switzerland) - [The 13 Best Python Libraries for Developers in 2025](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/371-the-13-best-python-libraries-for-developers-in-2025)
