This role owns features and components end-to-end and collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality payment applications, services, and systems., * Design, develop, and maintain software applications, APIs, and backend services with limited guidance * Build and integrate secure APIs and services, including payment-related functionality, in compliance with PCI DSS * Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code * Participate in code reviews and pull requests-both giving and receiving constructive feedback-and follow engineering best practices * Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, and other engineers to deliver features that meet user and business needs * Debug, test, and resolve technical issues of moderate complexity, including production defects surfaced through monitoring tools * Contribute to system architecture and design discussions * Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability * Ensure security, privacy, and data-protection standards are followed, including secure handling of sensitive and cardholder data * Evaluate and adopt new technologies and tools that improve development efficiency * Mentor and support Software Engineer I team members as needed * Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies using JIRA and Confluence (as applicable) Technology Environment Payarc engineers work across a broad, modern technology stack.
