PLC or controls knowledge is helpful, but this position is focused on machinery specification and overall system development rather than programming. ## Description We are seeking a senior Automation / Robotics Packaging Systems Engineer with strong experience specifying and selecting machinery for automated packaging and material handling systems. This is not primarily a programming role. The main responsibility is understanding the customer's production process, determining what machinery is needed, selecting/specifying the appropriate equipment, and developing the overall system layout from initial product handling through packaging, palletizing, and shipment. Responsibilities * Evaluate customer production requirements and determine what automated machinery and equipment is needed * Specify and select conveyors, robotic systems, case packers, palletizers, shrink wrappers, packaging equipment, and related machinery * Develop complete equipment layouts based on available floor space and production requirements * Determine how individual machines will work together as one complete automated production line * Define machine functionality, operating sequence, throughput, and system requirements * Work with equipment manufacturers and vendors to select the correct machinery for each application * Review equipment specifications, proposals, layouts, and technical documentation * Support machinery purchasing and vendor selection * Communicate system requirements to controls engineers and programmers * Travel to customer sites to support equipment installation, startup, and commissioning * Verify that installed machinery operates as intended ## Related Videos - [Robots are coming into the wild!
