Bilingual candidates must pass a language proficiency assessment at an intermediate high to advanced level per CESD guidelines to be eligible for bilingual salary placement, *Range 26 is for bilingual candidates who pass a language proficiency assessment at an intermediate high to advanced level in any of the major languages of our service communities (Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Mandarin, and American Sign Language) ## Description The Systems Infrastructure Engineer's role is to install, configure, administer, optimize, and support systems and related components to achieve reliability and performance from the various Clackamas ESD supported applications and services both on-premises and in the cloud. This includes ensuring the availability of client/server applications, configuring all new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the systems environments. Particular emphasis is placed on integrating disparate systems with varying locations and methods of data exchange. The Systems Infrastructure Engineer will assist in overseeing the physical security, integrity, and safety of the data center/server farm. This position focuses on both client/partner and county/state-wide systems., * Design, develop, evaluate, build, modify, test and configure enterprise software, systems, databases, devices, applications, products and patches to integrate into networked systems for clients; support county, consortium, and state systems. * Provide a secure, compliant, robust, reliable, scalable and efficient infrastructure ensuring availability of client systems. * Assist in maintaining data center/server room security features, including environmental alarms, access restrictions, and policies. Requires onsite work. * Maintain confidentiality of both design of system infrastructure and architecture as well as data the systems contain. * Resolve complex technical problems that are escalated beyond the expertise of the Systems Infrastructure I staff. * Design, evaluate, build, modify, test and configure computer infrastructure, either on-premises, within data center, or in the public cloud as client requires. * Design, evaluate, build, modify, test and configure backup/disaster recovery infrastructure, either on-premises, within data center, or in the public cloud as client requires. * Design, evaluate, build, modify, test and configure SAN storage infrastructure, either on-premises, within data center, or in the public cloud as client requires. * Automate repeatable tasks for infrastructure, such as system image creation and software patching, by writing, modifying, testing, deploying and documenting scripts or script logic. * Define and implement solutions for integrating disparate systems. * Plan and execute upgrades and patches for all software, applications and supporting tools; push patches, updates, and other enterprise software and applications using on-premises and cloud-based solutions; plan, create, manage and deploy application, security, configuration, power and device management settings and group policies. * Integrate and manage identity management software. * Implement procedures and technologies (including firewalls) to ensure security as required by client's management and CESD's management. * Design, evaluate, build, modify, test and configure disaster recovery hardware, software, and/or scripts to restore systems in the event of a disaster to the expected disaster recovery service level. * Change and ensure integrity and availability of both internal and external DNS. * Work with clients, manufacturers, and vendors of hardware, software and application products, clients and other project stakeholders for installations, deployments and troubleshooting. * Coordinate and collaborate with clients and CESD network engineers, analysts, and customer service functions to ensure availability, reliability, and performance of servers to meet client expectations.
