## About the Role

We are seeking an Hadoop/Data Platform Operations Engineer to join our Enterprise Data Platform Capacity Management Team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Hadoop ecosystem technologies and a proven ability to deliver analytics, executive reporting, and operational insights that support capacity planning and financial governance., * Strong proficiency with Hadoop ecosystem technologies: HDFS, Hive, Spark, Ozone.

 * Experience with Hive Metastore management and table or partition maintenance.
 * Background supporting large-scale data warehouse environments on Hadoop.
 * Hands-on data ingestion, ETL, and data validation experience.
 * Shell scripting and Python automation expertise.
 * Experience with Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) or similar Hadoop distributions.
 * Strong SQL and data analytics skills.
 * Demonstrated expertise in executive reporting and storytelling.
 * High organization with strong analytical and critical thinking skills, both strategic and tactical.
 * Experience leveraging AI and automation tools to improve efficiency and insights.
 * Proficiency with JIRA, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.

Preferred Skills:

 * Experience in capacity management for enterprise data platforms.
 * Background in financial governance or technology cost management.

## Description

* Provide analytics, executive reporting, and operational insights to drive capacity planning and financial governance.
 * Monitor and resolve HDFS and Ozone related issues across clusters.
 * Investigate cluster performance, storage utilization, and capacity concerns.
 * Manage quota requests, storage allocation, and capacity planning activities.
 * Support application onboarding and data platform integration efforts.
 * Coordinate with application teams during incident resolution and problem management.
 * Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
